147_Unforgettable Short StoriesW. YANG was bom and raised in Taiwan. When he grew up, he was invited to work as an Education Specialist in the US Army in Okinawa. He started to write to practice his own English. He also took time to study Okinawan history. He wanted to let the people know the oppressed history of Okinawa which had been famous for Karate.

About that time, Kung Fu film and TV programs were popular, and many people throughout the world became interested in the martial arts. He wrote “Legend of Nanchaku” putting the historical, geographical and social background into his story. He then went on to write a string of stirring stories, many of which had their backgrounds in the Orient. Lately he has turned to writing for children to enjoy, making them interesting, positive, and encouraging, sharing knowledge, humour, imagination, affection, dreams and fantasy. He is constantly on the lookout for new objects and subjects for his stories.

A string of literary awards followed his work, including Certificate of Achievement – Hollywood Song Jubilee, Editor’s Choice Award – International Library of Poetry, Famous Poets Society Award, Certificate of Excellence – NATWA Radio Broadcast Winner. Certificate of Fine Work – Overseas Chinese Salvation Society.

He writes with a simple, imaginative, unique style which puts his stories in the class which never dates and remains fresh for all time.
