Atlanta Taiwanese Philharmonic Chorus

About Atlanta Taiwanese Philharmonic Chorus (ATPhC)

ATPhC is an amateur chorus group founded in September 2011 by a group of Taiwanese Americans. The main mission of ATPhC is to connect members of the local Taiwanese-American community through music. The chorus currently has some 50 members.

The director/conductor of ATPhC is Dr. Ping Chen. While he was a music director at Taiwan Taichung Education University, Dr. Chen had earned many awards. Before his move to Atlanta, he helped to organize and conduct an amateur senior chorus group in Flushing, New York. The group had performed at New York’s Lincoln Center for three consecutive years, and Dr. Chen also was honored by New York City Council as the Best Volunteer of 2010. The accompanist is Mrs. Jinnie Ho, who holds a B.A. in Music from National Taiwan Normal University. She has many years of experience in teaching piano and accompanying chorus.

The ATPhC members come from different background including professors, business owners, teachers, writers, professionals and even young-at-heart retirees.

Though ATPhC is a relatively new organization, it has cumulated an impressive list of performances. It has been invited to perform at the SETAA summer conference, an ATAA annual meeting dinner party, Chan-hwa community conference and recently Asian Pacific American Council of Georgia Gala and received great review.

Currently, ATPhC practices weekly at the Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, GA. We welcome you to join us.
