2015 TACEC (Taiwanese American Conference / East Coast, 2015) is a historical event in the following areas:
- US official attended TACEC as a speaker, first in any Taiwanese community event
- Live video chat between TACEC attendees with talk show hosts in Taiwan, first in at least TACEC history if not the entire TA community
- Formal reception, first in TACEC history
- Of the 20 moderators 5 are current graduate students from Taiwan, 3 are young TA (under 40), and 2 are 2nd generation, amounting to a 50% younger generation
- Cooking workshop, first in TACEC history
- Concurrent fireworks and lantern lighting, first in TACEC history
- First, 2nd, and 3rd generation ALL participated throughout entire “Taiwan Night”, the highlight of TACEC, the first in TACEC history
- A formal Ikebana (flower arrangement) exhibit that is open to the public
- A total of 167 attended TANG (Taiwanese American Next Generation), the highest number in its 10-year history.
- Created a permanent TACEC facebook account for program update throughout the planning period
