A native Taiwanese, pianist Min-Kuei Yang 楊閔貴has appeared as a recitalist and collaborative pianist in Taiwan, the United States, and Europe at venues such as Presidential Hall, National Concert Hall, National Recital Hall, Concert Hall of NTNU, Chi-Shan Hall in Kaoshiung Cultural Center, Kilburn Hall of Eastman School of Music, Friedberg Concert Hall of Peabody Conservatory of Music, Paul Hall of Julliard School, the Aspen Institute, Benaroya Symphony Hall in Seattle, and Geneva Conservatory in Switzerland, etc.

Ms. Yang has won numerous piano competitions, including top prizes in Changhua Piano Competition, Taipei City Piano Competition, Taiwan National Piano Competition and Hsin-Tien Gong National Talented Young Artist Piano Competition. In September, 2010, she was awarded the Bronze Medal and Best Interpretation Prize of Chopin Works in the 2010 Seattle International Piano Competition. In the same year, Min-Kuei was invited by the prestigious Geneva International Piano Competition in Switzerland as the only Taiwan participant.

Listed as excellent student, Ms. Yang obtained her bachelor degree at National Taiwan Normal University and graduated with the highest distinction in 2004. Both active as soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Yang has been invited as guest artist by NTNU Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan Vocal Artist Society, and Taiwan Modern Music Society. In 2009, Ms. Yang is the only pianist recipient of the prestigious Scholarship of Distinguished Students by Ministry of Education of Taiwan, R.O.C. The following year, she was invited by the Aspen Institute, representing as “Musician from Peabody Conservatory.” In August, 2010, she was also selected as Rising Young Artist by Taiwan Classical Music Society, along with several national-wide concert engagements in following seasons. Min-Kuei has also participated in numerous master classes led by esteemed pianists as Michel Béroff, Rudolf Kehrer, Alexei Konienko, Sara Davis Bauchner, Maria Hahn, Peter Frankl, and Ruth Slenczynska, etc.

Ms. Yang holds a master degree from Eastman School of Music where she studied with Ms. Nelita True. As a recipient of full scholarship/assistantship and the Clara Ascherfeld Award in recognition of excellence in accompanying, she is currently pursuing doctoral degree at Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Mr. Alexander Shtarkman. She is also projecting the completion of degree of Doctor of Musical Arts at Peabody in this May.
