Hsien-Ann Meng 孟憲安, Pianist

Hsien-Ann Meng 孟憲安, an active piano teacher and a member of the MTNA, MSMTA and Friday Morning Music Club, is currently teaching at Howard Community College. Dr. Meng received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from Peabody Conservatory of Music, and obtained her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland in College Park. In her pursuit of undergraduate and graduate degrees, Meng studied with distinguished teachers and artists such as Bradford Gowen, Raymond Hanson, Anne Koscielny, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Marian Hahn. Meng has also received chamber coaching from Samuel Sanders and participated in the master class given by Misha Dichter. Hsien-Ann Meng has performed frequently in Washington metropolitan area and has been a member of the Octtava Piano Duo since 2001. In addition, Dr. Meng had appeared as a guest speaker for Columbia Orchestra and Candlelight Concert Series pre-concert talks, and she is a frequently invited speaker for SASI at Howard Community College and OASIS in Bethesda. In Spring 2008, she was the guest speaker for the HCC Women’s Studies/Arts & Humanities Speaker Series.
