美音基金會 Universal Door Foundation

 

Cofounded the Universal Door Foundation to help bridge a cultural and generational gap in art that I had observed between the East and the West and between the young and the old.  The organization encourages musicians to create works to bridge this gap by supporting them financially and by hosting concerts in the local community to promote their work.  We funded and hosted the Formosan American Concert on June 1, 2013.  In the concert, other local Taiwanese musicians and I played compositions integrating Taiwanese folk music with more modern genres, such as jazz and classical.  Over five hundred people attended the event.  We are in the process of planning another similar concert in spring 2014.
