Our Mission

Since 1980, TAFPC began to embark on the mission of sharing the love of God to the communities in the central New Jersey area and in the grater NY/NJ/CT tri-state area. Our church activities include: Sunday WorshipServices, Children Sunday School, Adult Sunday School and extending to Bible studies, family fellowship meetings and other programs throughout the week.

Because of the bilingual nature of our congregation, worship services and other fellowship activities are being conducted in both English and Taiwanese.

Separate Taiwanese and English worship services are held simultaneously on Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM (summer sessions, 11:30 AM). In 2013, the English language worship service became Sky Fellowship. Our Taiwanese speaking members are mostly first generation immigrants from Taiwan. Our English speaking members are mostly 2nd generation Taiwanese-Americans but our congregation is increasingly multi-cultural as other Asians and ethnic groups are drawn to our warm fellowship.

The Taiwanese speaking members take part in regional Bible Study groups based on their geographic locations on Fridays. Bible Studies for all ages are held after services on Sunday afternoons. Our congregation is an active fellowship with many youth and young adult activities such as: annual summer and winter retreats, lock-ins, special choir concerts, hand bell choir, and other community outreach and service projects.  Each summer, many of our youths also seek out volunteer service projects (either locally or abroad) in which they can put their faith into practice through their service in the kingdom of God.

Our goals are to:

  • Achieve greater understanding of our Christian roles and responsibilities living together as a global community in the 21st century;
  • Present the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bear witness to the Christian faith beyond our own cultural, ethnic, and social comfort zones through evangelism/outreach/service to the community; and
  • Identify and acknowledge what God is doing in other parts of the world through witnesses and testimonies of and hands-on service to others.

Just as the Apostle Paul presented this notion of Oneness in Christ in Galatians 3:26-29:

“For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.  As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.  There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.”

Through our weekly worship and bible studies, we will be challenged while we focus on the needs in the ministry areas of Proclamation, Worship, Witness, Fellowship, Discipleship, and Service.
