23. 7/31/1981 / Taiwan Tribune 台灣公論報issued its first issue ( 創刊號)
22. 7/3/1981 / Prof. Chen Wen Chen 陳文成教授 was found dead in Tai-da 台大（National Taiwan University）campus in Taiwan.
21. 4/10/1979/Taiwan Relations Act was signed by President James Earl Carter, Jr
20. 1979 / President Jimmy Carter recognized People Republic of China (PRC) and severed diplomatic relations with Republic of China in Taiwan.
19. 2/21/1972 / President Richard Nixon visited China and issued a Shanghai Communique with Communist China.
18. 10/25/1971 / Republic of China in Taiwan was completely expelled from United Nations.
17. 1971 / The Movement of Self Determination by Taiwanese 台灣人民自決運動 was started.
16. 9/29/1970 / Prof. Peng Ming-Min arrived at Detroit, MI.
15. 1970 / The first summer conference for Taiwanese American in East Coast.
14. 4/24/1970 / Mr. Peter Huang 黃文雄attempted to shoot Mr. Chin-Kong Chiang 蔣經國in New York City.
13. 1970 / Taiwanese American Association/U.S. was found. There are more than 60 local chapters in the U. S. joined the association.
12. 1965 / Majority of Taiwanese students decided to stay in the U. S. after obtained their advance degrees.
11. 1965 / Some Taiwanese students were in a國民黨 black list and were not allowed to return to their home land.
10. 1965 / The spouses and children of Taiwan oversea students were allowed by the government of Taiwan to unite with their families in America.
9. 1960 / U. S. government emphasized the science and engineering fields. Financial aids to the graduate students of these fields were offered by many American universities. This created graduate study opportunities for Taiwanese graduates majoring in science and engineering fields.
8. 1/1/1956 / 3F (Formosans’ Free Formosa) was established in Philadelphia.
7. 1955 / Only college graduates were allowed to go out of Taiwan for advance study. Male students had to complete their military service first.
6. 1952 – 1954 / High school graduates were allowed to go abroad for their college education.
5. 1950 / College graduates departed from Taiwan to America for graduate studies.
4. 1950 / Massive refugees ( more than 2 millions) fled from China to Taiwan.
3. 1949 / Dr. Or Hsieh ( 謝娥醫師) arrived in America and later obtained her citizenship. She is considered to be the first Taiwanese American.
2. 1947 / 228 Incident happened in Taiwan. 國民黨 imposed Martial Law in Taiwan.
1. 1945 / The Ruling on Taiwan was changed from Japan to the Republic of China ( 國民黨) at the end of World War II.
