紐約幼獅青少年管弦樂團於台灣會館舉辦移民文化音樂會
紐約移民文化周New York City Immigrant Heritage Week-April 17th-24th

紐約市政府去年年底首次通過, 邀請市議員指定其社區之移民文化團體 鼓勵 於2015年一月一日至六月三十日期間 , 舉辦有關移民文化之活動 。 每社區 贊助一至兩團體 , 法拉盛區顧雅明市議員推薦紐約幼獅青少年管弦樂團參予 , 並向紐約市文化事務局提出申請, 受審通過 , 將於四月十八日(周六) 晚間七時 , 假 台灣會館 舉辦一場饗宴移民和備俱移民文化的音樂會 。
當晚將由該團音樂總監 鍾啟仁帶領五十多位年紀 10-18 歲青少年演出 。 特別介紹 : 台美人音樂大師蕭泰然 作品 “來自福爾摩沙的天使 ” ; 廣東出生美籍華裔作曲家黃輔棠作品 ” 神鵰俠侶交響曲 第七樂章 群英賀壽” ; 本樂團 自小學起栽培的團員, 現擔任管樂指導老師張若葳 , 將於海頓小號協奏曲中擔任小號獨奏 ; 本團長笛首席野口元滋與其父親野口和男, 父子演奏 巴哈 G大調雙橫笛與通奏低音奏鳴曲, 由鍾啓仁大提琴和陳樹龍鋼琴協奏。

Youth Orchestra, CYCNY would like to thank Council Member Peter Koo for recommending YOC for the New York City’s New “Immigrant Cultural Initiative“ Program, as well as to thank New York City Department of Cultural Affairs for its funding.
Our concert falls on April 18th at Taiwan Center in Flushing, it is within the New York City Immigrant Heritage Week-April 17th-24th. YOC is a youth orchestra based in Queens since 1996, most members age 10-18 are immigrants or 2nd generation of immigrants from Asia. Our Music Director & Conductor Chjjen Christopher Chung will lead 55 young musicians to perform the concert.
The members chose to participate at this orchestra, because we teach and perform the repertories of Western Classical, Popular, Jazz, Film and Asian Music. While enhance both Western and Asian music; we also feature World and US premieres of works by living American and Asian composers. We encourage family members playing music together, therefore, the concert features our flute principal Genji Nogchi and his father Kazuo Noguchi, in J.S. Bach’s G Major Sonata for Two Flutes & & Basso Continuo, BWV 1039.. We also feature our wind and brass instructor, Lovell P. Chang to be the soloist of Haydn’s E-Major Trumpet Concerto.

Youth Orchestra, CYCNY is a Queens-based youth orchestra since 1996. Its regular weekly rehearsal takes place at MS 158 in Bayside, Queens. New members are auditioned in mid-September.
The Mission of Youth Orchestra, CYCNY is to provide orchestra training education and, performing opportunities at the world renowned concert hall, such as Alice Tully Hall and Avery Fisher Hall of Lincoln Center, as well as the local community school, senior center, nursing and rehabilitation center. We also believe in cultural exchange and experience globally, therefore, we conduct concert tours to Asia, Europe and East Coast in some summers.
