JOURNALISM INTERNSHIP PROGRAM by Taiwanese American Citizens League

JOURNALISM INTERNSHIP PROGRAM by Taiwanese American Citizens League

To encourage high school students to be actively involved in the community, the TACL, Los Angeles Chapter began its Journalism Internship Program in 1999. Every year, TACL, working with and sponsored by the Rosemead-based weekly newspaper Pacific Times, provides talented high school students an opportunity to intern in a professional environment.

This program offers students the experience of what it is like to be in the world of journalism and media.

The interns learn first-hand the production and distribution of a newspaper and benefit from interactions with journalism professionals. In addition, the program includes attendance to community events and volunteering activities. TACL hopes that, through exposure to journalism and the community, the program would foster our youth’s awareness of the multi-culture of our society and increase their participation in fields that are traditionally underrepresented by Taiwanese American.
