Winnie Cheng-Wen Lai 賴政雯, Woodwind

 

New York-based Oboist Chengwen Winnie Lai maintains a varied chamber music and orchestra career. Winnie performs in Jupiter symphony chamber player，IRIS chamber orchestra in Memphis, the Metropolitan Opera, the Seattle Symphony, San Diego Symphony Summer Pop as a guest principle, New Jersey Symphony, and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra’s Japan Tour in 2011 as substitute principal. As a chamber musician, Winnie has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Family Concert, Argento Chamber Ensemble, chamber musician at Bargemusic, and the Declassified. As a charter member of the Academy-a Program of Carnegie Hall，The Juilliard School and the Weill Music Institute, Winnie has performed chamber music extensively in Carnegie Hall with Ensemble ACJW. Her festival appearance includes Marlboro, Aspen Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, Music Academy of the West. Winnie has had the opportunity to collaborate with recording artist, Bjork, for her “Drawing Restraint 9”. In 2011, Winnie recorded Sonata for oboe and piano for James Cohn’s album, A Grecian Festival, by MSR label. As a teacher, Winnie has taught at chamber music conference at Bennington, Vermont, Idyllwild Arts Academy summer program, and Teaching Artist at Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall. Bom in Kaohsiung, Taiwan，Winnie received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School where she studied with Elaine Douvas and John Mack. Winnie is the woodwind faculty of the Chinese Youth Orchestra of New York since 2003. Starting this fall, she will be the oboist of Seattle Symphony Orchestra.

賴政雯出生於高雄台灣，自幼學習鋼琴、雙簧管。1998年獾得全額獎學金進入茱麗亞音樂院就讀學士及碩士。賴政雯獲獎無數包括台灣奇美藝術人才培訓獎、New York Young Concert Artist (YCA)Competition決賽選手、Grand Prize洛杉磯Spotlight Competition及加州 Idyllwild Young Artist Competition等；演奏足跡遍布各大音樂廳，其中包括曾多次在林肯中心的Avery Fisher HaH、Alice Tully Hall、Juilliard Theater、紐約大都會歌劇院、卡納基音樂廳、Merkin Hall、Staller中心、費城 Kimmel Center ‘華盛頓JCennedy Center、洛杉碟 Los Angeles Music Center、Disney Hall ‘西雅圖 Benaroya Hall、日本Kitara Sapporo Concert Hall及東京Suntory Hall、西班牙 Aviles Teatro Valdes、 Oviedo Philharmonic Society演出。並且與西雅圖交響樂團、聖地牙哥交響樂團Summer Pop、紐澤 西交響樂團、紐約大都會歌劇、紐約Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Family Concert series 聯合演出。除此之外，還曾與歌手「Bjork」錄製專輯< Drawing Restraint 9〉及錄製James Cohn專輯 < A Grecian Festival> ^o

賴政雲並被邀請參與日本太平洋音樂節、Music of West Academy Santa Barbara、Aspen Music Festival、National Repertoire Orchestra及Marlboro Music。曾任敎於Idyllwild 藝術學院暑期夏令營 和Bennington Vermont暑期室內樂夏令營及卡納基Weill Music Institute的Teaching Artist 。目前擔任紐約幼獅青少年交響樂團管弦樂指導老師。除了 IRIS Chamber Orchestra和紐約Jupiter Chamber Player和紐約the Declassified演出，也屢次和卡納基 EnsembleACJW和紐約大都會歌劇院演出。任職西雅圖交響樂團雙簧管演奏團員。
