85. Ching Hou Biotechnology Award

The Biotechnology Division Ching Hou Biotechnology Award recognizes a scientist, technologist, or leader, making contributions to the advancement of edible oils, or to the Biotechnology Division’s field of interest.

The award consists of a plaque and a $1,000 honorarium.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must have made significant contributions to the knowledge, technology, or history of the industry. Candidates should also have demonstrated character, ethics, and a reputation that places them above their peers. Preference will be given to AOCS members involved in the Biotechnology Divisionand the Society. The award winner is required to attend the AOCS Annual Meeting and present an award acceptance lecture at one of the Biotechnology Division’s technical sessions.

Nominations

Nomination materials should include a nomination letter and at least three supporting letters from other scientists familiar with the candidate’s accomplishments and character. Biographical information which include a detailed Curriculum Vitae, a summary of research accomplishments, degrees held and their granting institutions, and positions held during the candidate’s professional career, should also be submitted.

Nomination materials should be sent as PDF files to awards@aocs.org by November 1.
