Chun Hsin Jenny Wu 伍君心, Violinist
Chun Hsin Jenny Wu started playing the violin at age four in Kao-Hsiung, Taiwan. She continued her musical studies with the Concertmaster of Dallas Symphony Bing Wong in the United States. In 1996 Ms. Wu won the First Place award from the Southern California Young Musicians Competition, Romantic Period. In 1998 she studied with the head of American Suzuki Organization William Starr in Colorado. In 2000 she won the Second Place of Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artists Concerto Competition. In 2001 she won Second Place in Jefferson Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Ms. Wu received her Bachelors of Music degree in Violin Performance in 2006. During her undergraduate studies, she studied with Mr. Oswald Lehnert. She received Outstanding Chamber Music Honors at the University of Colorado. In 2005, she won First Place in MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Young Artist Competition, Colorado Division, and then Honorable Mention at the Regional Division.
Along side with solo works, Ms. Wu keeps an active chamber music career as well. She is the violinist of Piove Trio. Piove Trio won MTNA Chamber Music Competition, Colorado Division, and then Second Place at the Regional Division. She has gotten master classes from Donald Wilerstein, Benny Kim, Alice Schoenfield, Jennifer John, Daniel Silver, Paul Erhart, Erika Eckert, Judith Glyde, members of the Takács Quartet, members of the Guaneri Quartet, and Anne Epperson. Ms. Wu has performed with numerous orchestras and she is an active recitalist in United States and Asia. Ms. Wu is currently pursuing the Masters of Music Degree in Violin Performance under Dr. Gerald Fischbach at the University of Maryland, College Park on a Graduate Assistantship
