I-Ting Huang 黃怡婷, Violist
A native of Tainan, TAIWAN, I-Ting Huang is the top winner of all instrumental concerto competition at the Taipei National University of the Arts, National Taiwan Viola, Chamber Music Competitions. She began her piano studies around age 3, and decided to engage in viola at 17. Later, she attained the audition in New England Conservatory but decided to study in Taipei National University of the Arts for bachelor on Viola Performance. As a full scholarship recipient and sponsored by LCU Foundation, I-Ting followed with renowned violist Hsin-Yun Huang at Mannes for Master and PSD, and earned DMA in UMKC conservatory in 2013, under the tutelage of Benny Kim and Scott Lee. She has performed on many acclaimed international stages, namely Carnegie, Alice Tully, Merkin, Ukrainian Institute of America in New York, Konzerthaus-Berlin, Smetana Hall and National Taiwan Concert Hall; and been invited to collaborate with Orion String Quartet, Benny Kim, Nina Beilina in chamber music concerts past years. Her participations in prestigious music festivals include Schleswig-Holstein, Prague Spring, Pacific Music Festival, Kneisel Hall, Moscow Conservatory Summer School. Currently, she resides in Pasadena and works in Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Opera and serves as an assistant principal of San Bernardino Symphony.
