Amy Chun-Ting Chao趙君婷, Soprano
Amy Chun-Ting Chao, soprano, a native of Taiwan, is a recent Graduate of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University with a Graduate Performance Diploma in Voice. In the Peabody production of Massenet’s Manon, Ms. Chao performed the role of Pousette, and she also performed portions of the roles of Manon, Konstanze, Electra, Juliette, and solo selections from Così fan tutte.
In Taiwan, Ms. Chao attended the Tunghai University earning her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Voice, and at the Taipei National University of the Arts she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Voice. While in Taiwan, she performed the role of L’écureuil from Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, accompanied by the Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, and she also performed portions of the roles of Micaëla, Frasquita, and Flora as well as numerous other roles in opera highlight performances with the Tunghai University Orchestra. Ms. Chao has given many recitals and has been a frequent participant in summer festivals as well as the Taiwan Opera Studio Young Artist Program. She has been a recipient of several awards and scholarships as well as a winner of the Young Artist Award from the Mondial Chinese Vocalist Concourse.
