Richard Lin 林品任, Violinist
Taiwanese-American violin virtuoso Richard Lin is quickly building an international reputation as one of the new generation’s most promising and gifted young concert soloists.
A former prize winner at the Michael Hill and NTDTV International Violin Competitions, Richard was recently awarded 1st Prize at the prestigious 2013 Sendai International Violin Competition, in Japan.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with respected pedagogue Aaron Rosand, Richard is currently completing graduate studies at The Juilliard School – with Professor Lewis Kaplan.
His recent debuts include performances with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Oklahoma City Philharmonic – and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra
Richard currently performs on the 1733 “Lafont” Guarneri del gesu – on generous loan from the Chi-Mei Cultural Foundation
林品任(Richard Lin,1991年7月6日-),出生美國亞歷桑納州鳳凰城,後隨父母返台,4歲學習小提琴,2007年追隨Gregory Lee(李東亨)前往美國深造,2008年考取美國柯蒂斯音樂學院(Curtis Institute of Music),師事Aaron Rosand。2013年起就讀於美國茱麗亞音樂學院,師事Lewis Kaplan。為2011年紐西蘭麥可希爾國際小提琴大賽銀牌得主,2010與2011連續兩年獲得奇美藝術獎,2013年日本仙台國際音樂大賽冠軍得主,2015年新加坡國際小提琴比賽第二名得主。
