Kuei-I Wu 伍癸怡, one of the most celebrated concert pianists from Taiwan, has played as solo artist and chamber musician at numerous festivals in Taiwan, Spain, Salzburg Austria and here in the US. Kuei-I was a prize winner of several International Competitions including First Prize at the Mieczyslaw Munz Piano Competition; Second Prize and Promising Artist Award at the National Society of Arts and Letters Competition; and Second Prize at the Five Towns Music and Art Foundation Piano Competition
Recently, Kuei-I received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland at College Park where she studied with Santiago Rodriguez. Among her earlier awards are first prizes in San Francisco Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition, the National Taiwan Academy of Arts Piano Concerto Competition, the Taiwan National Kawai Piano Competition and the Kaohsiung Piano Competition.
Kuei-I is in high demand as solo pianist and chamber musician. She has performed the Liszt Piano Concerto No. 2 at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. Her recently performances include recitals in Columbia, Rockville, Frederic, College Park and Netherlands Embassy in Washington DC. Kuei-I currently serves as piano faculty at Frederic and Howard Community College.
