NATMA-SCC has the most members among the 18 NATMA Chapters in the US. The NATMA Foundation SCC has a total of 21 directors and each director alleges to donate at least $500 annually. With steady source of funds, we are able to carry out various tasks.

Southern California Chapter main functions:

  1. Sponsor international Medical Missions: During this period, we have conducted international medical missions to Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Dominica, Belize, Honduras, in Central and South America, and Burma. In addition, we conducted medical missions to our diplomatic country Paraguay on Dec 2018, Cambodia on February 2019, Honduras on March 2019, Guatemala in July 2019, etc… During the annual Taiwanese American Heritage Week, in May, NATMA SCC organizes free dental cleaning, medical seminars, and life-saving CPR class at Taiwan Center of Greater Los Angeles.
  2. NATMA Scholarship: We award 3-5 scholarship winners annually, each $,1000 to $2,000, since 2008. We hope to provide an opportunity for the second-generation Taiwanese American healthcare providers to understand NATMA and participate in NATMA activities. This year is the 13th year of the NAMTA Scholarship, with 3 scholarship winners, and $2,000 scholarship per winner.
  3. Assist other medical or humanitarian-related charities, 2G young Taiwanese organizations, such as ITASA, TACL, TAO, UCI Academic Friday, Taiwan-US Scholarship, Kaya Children International, Amos Health & Hope, Simply Help, Pacific Times, City of Ten Thousand Buddha Medical Mission, etc. In 2011, we donated $105,000,00 for the construction of the Nursing Home of Saint Mary’s Hospital of Luodong, and donated $24,380.00 in Tainan Disaster Relief. These were all meaning acts.

Finally, I would like to thank all the fellow doctors for their contribution and dedication to NATMA for more than a decade. I would also like to thank all the community volunteers for their financial and medical mission support. On behalf of NATMA Foundation SCC, I give my deepest appreciation. I will continue to serve NATMA and the Taiwanese community with my life principles of “Love, Tolerance, and Efficiency.” I am looking forward to NATMA’s next generation successors
