曾任AIT官員 台裔王涵就任美國駐名古屋首席領事
（中央社記者戴雅真東京13日專電）美國駐名古屋領事館新任首席領事王涵（Anna Wang）日前就任，成為該館有史以來首位女性首席領事。王涵的父母都是台灣人，她曾在美國在台協會（AIT）工作4年，與台灣頗有淵源。
王涵出生於美國路易斯安那州，父母親都是台灣人，屬於移民第二代。她會說日文和中文，興趣包括健身、閱讀和旅行，這次和丈夫一同派赴日本名古屋，成為美國自1920年在名古屋開設領事館以來的首位女性首席領事，任期為3年。
朝日新聞報導，王涵在橫濱研修日語後，於7月24日就任。她日前與媒體見面時表示，「作為台灣移民的後代，能夠代表國家，作為首位女性首席領事被派駐到日本的中部地區，這象徵著美國的多樣性，我對此感到自豪」。
王涵表示，「將加強與當地大學、企業及文化團體的合作，提供深化相互理解的計畫與機會」。
美國即將迎來總統大選，日本也將進行自民黨黨魁選舉。王涵也強調，「無論誰當選，我們和日本的夥伴關係都不會改變」。
根據美國駐日大使館資料，王涵於2011年加入美國國務院，在今年7月被任命為名古屋首席領事之前，她曾任南亞暨中亞事務局巴基斯坦事務辦公室的政治組主管，負責處理雙邊政治問題。她也有處理美國與印度關係的經驗，特別是美國、日本、印度和澳洲之間的「四方安全對話」（Quadrilateral Security Dialogue）相關議題。
王涵的專長為經濟和環境議題，曾在美國在台協會（AIT）工作4年，負責監督雙邊環境、科學、技術與衛生合作。她此前也在美國駐納米比亞、沙烏地阿拉伯等國的大使館工作，這是她首次派赴日本。
王涵在喬治華盛頓大學取得國際關係碩士學位，並在紐約州立大學奧爾巴尼分校取得工商管理和行銷學士學位。在成為外交官之前，曾在消費性商品產業擔任顧問。（編輯：韋樞）1130813
Ms. Anna Wang joined the State Department in 2011.
Prior to her appointment to Consulate Nagoya in July 2024, Ms. Wang served as Political Unit Chief in the Office of Pakistan Affairs in the Bureau of South and Central Asia, where she managed the broad range of bilateral political issues. She also has experience working on the U.S.-India relationship, particularly issues related to the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States. She has expertise in economic and environment issues, having worked for four years at the American Institute in Taiwan, overseeing bilateral environment, science, technology, and health cooperation. She has also previously served at the U.S. Embassies in Namibia and Saudi Arabia.
Before becoming a diplomat, Ms. Wang worked as a consultant in the consumer products industry. She received a master’s degree in international relations from the George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in business administration and marketing from the State University of New York at Albany.
She is joined in Japan by her husband. She speaks Japanese and Mandarin. Her interests include working out, reading, and traveling.
