Henry Huan Bi Cheng鄭煥璧, conductor

With his passion and enthusiasm in music, he studied vocal music and choir conducting from the renowned Professor Lu Chuan-Hsin. This led Henry Cheng into the wonderful world of music. Over half a century, he served as conductor for many choirs.  In the recent years, Henry devoted his energy in composing. He published four volumes of choir music, one volume of solo music and one volume of Church music.
鄭煥璧，苗栗苑里人，台北師範學校畢業後，拜師呂泉生學習聲樂。一九五八年進入榮星兒童合唱團任教，與呂泉生老師共事擔任指揮達20年之久。1976年起僑居美國加州，在偶然機會下，認識一群愛唱歌的社區同好，共組瑞聲合唱團，重啟合唱指揮的事業。一九九四年，已在南加僑界享有卓越合唱領導聲譽的他，以六十高齡投入歌曲創作領域，翌年發表的第一首作品〈渡口〉，如今已成為廣受北美僑界歡迎的華語合唱曲。在指導合唱之餘，他立志未來要寫作大多數華人合唱團都能演唱，都愛演唱的歌曲，為他熱愛的合唱事業盡一已之力。

半個多世紀以來，他先後指揮過數個合唱團。 近年來，鄭老師專心從事歌曲創作，已出版合唱曲四集，獨唱曲一集， 宗教曲一集。
