Cheryl Lin Hong林千千, Conductor
Ms. Cheryl Lin Hong started her piano lesson at 5, and was fascinated by music since then. After graduation from Ju-Jen University, Cheryl went to Columbia University to study music history and musicology. Currently, she is the conductor for the Detroit Little Philharmonic Choir, a group of Taiwanese music lovers who practice and perform Taiwanese folk songs. Most recently, Cheryl coordinated NATWA sponsorship activity for the Akron Symphony Orchestra concert held on February 10. This concert featured Taiwanese American violinist, Mr. Cho-Liang Lin, and conductor, Ms. Ya-Hui Wang.
生於豐原,成長於台北市。自幼學習鋼琴,熱愛音樂。輔仁大學營養系畢業,赴美Columbia University改念音樂史學。1988年加入NATMA,曾任NATWA Detroit分會會長,「聯誼通訊」和「婦女信箱」編輯,負責推動與中西部同鄉共同贊助2001年2月10日王雅蕙指揮,林昭亮演奏蕭泰然小提琴協奏曲盛會。現任Detroit「愛樂小集」指揮,專唱台灣民謠。
