九月十六曰生於台灣

September 16, born in Taichung, Taiwan

1964

早期師大畫會代表「年代畫會」創辦人之一

One of founders of “ERA Painting Association”, an important painting association in earlier National Taiwan Normal University

1965

國立台灣師範大學美術系畢業

Graduated from Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan

Normal University

首次畫展於國立台灣藝術中心藝術館舉行

First solo exhibition beld in the Art Gallery of National Taiwan Arts Center, Taipei

1967

與姚張和之女士結婚。岳父張良典醫師與岳母張孫蓮治女士，早年給予姚慶章在創作上的支持，使其無後顧之憂全心創作

Married with Christine Ho-chu.Yao. Due to Ho-chu’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chang’s generously support, C.J. Yao started his artistic career at very young age.

1968

女兒書寧出生

Daughter Su-lin was born

1969

參加東京第五屆國際青年藝術家展獲榮黌獎

Received Honorary Award at the 5th International Youth Artist Exhibition in Tokyo

1970

參加巴西第十屆聖保羅國際美展，舉家移民美國，持續創作

Attended 10th Saint Paul International Art Exhibition in Brazil, moved to USA

兒子君翰出生

Son King Yao was born

1974-84

成為美國超寫霣主義重要代表畫家，其間在各國舉辦畫展逾百場

Became important representative of Super-realist in USA. Involved in over 100 exhibition around the world

1983

應聯合國邀請赴中國大陸講學西方現代藝術思潮，並將超寫實主義繪畫觀念引進中國

Invited by United Nations to visit Mainland China to give lessons about Western Modern Art. Introduced surrealist teachings to China.

1984

加州舊金山市中國文化中心

中國北京國家美術館

Attended exhibition in Chinese Culture Center, San Francisco

Attended exhibition in the National Fine Arts Museum, Beijing

1985

應聘為北京中央工藝美術學院客座教授，並成為中國大陸首位海外美術界永久客座教授

Visiting professor at Central Creative Crafts College in Peking and first overseas permanent visiting professor of art in Mainland China.

1991

參展「台北-紐約：現代藝術的遇和」於台北市立美術館

“Taipei-New York :Confrontation of modernism” at Taipei Fine Arts Museum

1994

榮獲中華民國畫廊博覽會海外藝術家貢獻獎

Received Overseas Painter Contribution Award of ROC Art Gallery Variety Exhibition.

「歐美現代美術」專書介紹姚慶章為美國超寫霣畫派畫作代表

Listed as one representative super-realist by Photorealism, New York: Harry N. Abrams, Inc.

1996

高雄市積禪50藝術空間展覽

畫作「號誌燈」被選為挪威教科書封面

Koahsiung City Heaven Accumulation 50 Art Space Exhibition.

His earlier work “Traffic Light” was selected as the cover page of Norway school textbooks

1997

中華民國第十四屆全國美術邀請展

上海美術館聯展

Participated in the 14th National Art Exhibition, Taiwan.

Attended exhibition at Shan Hai Fine Arts Museum

1998

美國關島大學邀請展

屏東縣立文化中心邀請展、苗栗縣立文化中心邀請展、台南縣立文化中心邀請展

Participated in exhibitions at Ping Tung Hsien Cultural Center, Miaoli Hsien Cultural Center, Tai Nan Cultural Center, and Guam University in the USA.

1999

中華民國第十五屆全國美術邀請展

新竹縣立文化中心邀請個展

Participated in the 15th National Art Exhibition, Taiwan and invited solo exhibition at Hsin Chu Hsien Cultural Center.

2000

龍門畫廊個展「圓形」、「菱形」系列繪畫

十一月六曰驟逝於紐約享年五十九歲

“Circular” and “Diamond” painting series exhibition at Lungman Art Gallery,Taipei

Passed away in New York on November 6, 2000
