【會長的話】-Rong-Chin Fang，Ph.D.（方榮震）
My dear TASS friends,
It has been a great honor for me to serve you. As I reflect on the past year as your president, I am in debt of gratitude to so many of you. Your constant encouragements and supports have left an indelible mark on my heart. Your active participation in TASS programs has given me the great joy to serve you. And there is no better reward to me than seeing TASS becoming a notable part of your weekly life!
We have had a great year to get together. We enjoyed learning, singing, dancing, exercising, outings, holiday celebrations, and birthday parties. We cherished our fellowship and showed our care for each other. We heard laughing and saw smiling every time we met. And our spirit got stronger and stronger, even though there were times that we felt we had to slow down our pace.
These great gatherings could not be feasible without you. You always gave a helping hand whenever needed-volunteering your time, sharing your life experiences, presenting your professional knowledge, capturing special moments during TASS activities, and giving generous financial supports. It is you who made these gatherings enjoyable and memorable!
Here I like to thank those who made an extra effort to give us such a wide spectrum of programs：Investment club by 歐昭惠, Life Enrichment club by 徐頌鵬, Photo club by 洪啟峰, Karaoke and Line Dance by 吳淑珍, Birthday Party bouquets by 林桂妹, Holiday Luncheons by 郭慶堂, 陳秀繁, TASS Photos by 楊友垣, Art of Living by 陳美麗 who is also Chief Editor of TASS Journal, Outings by 李延平, World Cultural Heritage series by 簡逸文, Taiwanese History and Culture series by 賴義雄, Technology series by 陳育仁, and Classical Music series by 馬作忠. Also thanks to 林佳惠, 游宏仁 for organizing the 3-day Educational Architecture, Art & Foliage Trip.
I also like to thank our dedicated board of directors：鄭鶴，翁美瑛，徐頌鵬，陳和女，馬作忠，李延平，游宏仁，郭慶堂，陳美麗，吳洋洋，洪珠美，徐榮聰，and Advisor林佳惠. They quietly managed TASS operations ranging from morning coffee/tea, equipment setup, and lunch to program planning/announcing/registering, book keeping/tax filing, membership, board meeting minutes, etc. Their conscious decisions and hard work made every TASS activity go smoothly and lively.
Now TASS has reached another milestone. The torch will be handed to a new president and a new board. And the new team will need everyone’s support. As I am stepping down, I hope TASS will become an extended family of everyone. And TASS will continue to be the place for everyone to learn, share and care and to live his or her life to the fullest in the golden years.
Thank you for the great gatherings! Let’s move forward to the next one together. Also, let’s be “joyful” always and thankful in all circumstances (常常喜樂，事事感謝)” And let everyday be a blessed day!
